  • Susie is the owner and founder of South Beach Pilates. Her journey with Pilates began in 1998 as a dedicated student. Discovering her true calling, she became certified by Core Dynamics in 2002 and earned her PMA (Pilates Method Alliance) certification in 2007. Committed to continued learning, Susie has pursued numerous specialized workshops and achieved international certification through Body Organics Education, a post-rehabilitation-focused Pilates training.

    Like her loyal and experienced team, Susie is an active teacher in the studio. She specializes in working with older adults and individuals managing back issues, injuries, medical conditions, and mobility limitations—guiding them through thoughtful, effective, and personalized Pilates sessions.

    Susie envisioned a neighborhood studio that felt both welcoming and deeply rooted in the principles of classical Pilates—the method as originally conceived by Joseph Pilates. Now, over seventeen years later, South Beach Pilates proudly reflects that vision. The studio is home to a team of highly trained, qualified, and gifted teachers, and is supported by a devoted local clientele, as well as a growing national and international reputation.

    In addition to teaching, Susie leads a comprehensive teacher training program in mat, reformer, and full apparatus Pilates—nurturing the next generation of passionate and knowledgeable instructors.

  • Jheramie traded the bright lights of Las Vegas for the sunny shores of Miami Beach in 2012—and she’s been transforming lives through Pilates ever since. A firm believer in the power of Pilates to strengthen the body, uplift the spirit, and center the mind, Jheramie brings both passion and positivity to every session. Her vibrant energy and sculpted physique are living proof of the practice's power.

    As a Teacher in our Training Program, Jheramie is deeply committed to mentoring the next generation of Pilates teachers.   • Alma’s fitness journey began in Mexico City in 2000. She holds certifications in Pilates, Spinning, and TRX, reflecting her dedication to wellness.   • Meet Christina Specos, a comprehensively trained Pilates teacher with 24 years of experience. Specializing in imbalances and injury recovery, she is dedicated to helping clients achieve optimal well-being. Christina’s fitness journey began in 1999 in Philadelphia and led her to Purdue University as a strength and conditioning coach. Now in Miami Beach, she works with our Pilates Teacher Training program and holds workshops for teachers.   • Meet Harley Scherago, a certified Pilates instructor with a background in fertility and women’s health. After studying Pre-Nursing at the University of Miami, Harley began her career in OBGYN care, where she discovered the profound impact of movement and breath on overall well-being.

    Her classes are playful, energizing, and inclusive—crafted to make Pilates enjoyable and accessible for every body, regardless of experience level. In private sessions, Harley specializes in supporting women through all stages of life, offering personalized guidance that honors each individual’s unique needs.

  • Kris Belding is a seasoned Pilates instructor and movement specialist with over 25 years of experience. With a background as a telemark skier and athlete, she has built a career centered on intelligent movement and wellness. Kris has made significant contributions as a fitness consultant and model for the South Beach Diet, helping create content for books, television segments, and articles. She collaborated with Dr. Arthur Agatston on The South Beach Heart Health Revolution and later co-designed the exercise program for The South Beach Diet Supercharged, focusing on interval walking and total body core exercises. Kris also worked with renowned South American author Jorge Hane as a fitness model and consultant.

    Kris’s expertise has been featured in prominent media outlets like Prevention Magazine, Social Miami, Ocean Drive, and Good Housekeeping, as well as television segments on Fox and Friends, NBC, ABC, and The Cooking Channel. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes mindful movement and preventative care to avoid injuries, guiding clients toward optimal health and well-being. Known for her fun, energetic, and intelligent approach, Kris is dedicated to empowering others and enhancing their quality of life through personalized and attentive instruction.

  • Born in Saint Jean de Luz, South West France, Jean-Philippe started playing sports at a

    very young age and actually studied to become a Physical Education teacher. When he

    was 20, he left France to become a professional Jai Alai player in Mexico, with the

    dream of one day playing in the Miami Jai Alai court, which he did! In 2008, JP

    sustained an injury that caused a herniation, which in turn caused him to lose sensation

    in his right leg. After a successful operation, it was then that he discovered Pilates and

    the amazing therapeutic benefits of The Method. His Pilates practice kept him from

    requiring additional surgeries and has kept his body strong.

    JP has always been amazed by the human body and its movement. He has a deep

    understanding and respect for what the body is capable of and it was this, coupled with

    his own personal experiences, that led him to study with the method and become a

    comprehensively trained teacher. In his classes, JP emphasizes the guiding principles

    of Pilates, creating a strong foundation no matter what level you are at in your practice.

    He enjoys working one on one with the clients, creating a customized experience and

    helping each client meet their individualized goals.
